Exela employees’ participation in 5K 10K run helps raise over $20,000 for the Institute
IRVING, Texas, July 25, 2018 -- Employees and management of Exela Technologies, Inc. (“Exela”) (NASDAQ:XELA), a global business process automation (BPA) leader, participated in the 41st Annual Palisades Will Rogers™ 5K 10K Run and successfully raised funds for the Orthopaedic Institute for Children (“OIC”). The Exela team set out to raise $10,000 as an organization and exceeded this goal. The total fundraising effort was also matched by Exela, resulting in a total donation of over $20,000 to the OIC.
The OIC is an organization comprised of medical professionals and volunteers that provides care for patients with musculoskeletal disorders, regardless of a family’s ability to pay for the care. The organization was founded over 100 years ago and now has four locations in California that treat over 70,000 patients a year.
“We are deeply appreciative of all of the Exela employees, family members, and friends who participated in the 5K/10K race, and of the incredible support provided by the leadership of Exela,” said Anthony Scaduto, M.D., Chief Executive Officer of the OIC. “Their passion, involvement and generosity helped us exceed our $10,000 fundraising goal and goes directly to patient care. It is because of incredible partners like Exela that we can help ensure that every child facing an orthopaedic condition has the opportunity to grow well and play well.”
“Our team at Exela was thrilled to help such a worthy cause, and we commend the OIC for its contribution to the children and families that need care,” said Par Chadha, Chairman of Exela.
For those who wish to donate to the OIC, please visit the OIC website for more information. The website offers multiple ways to give, including direct online donation, fundraising, sponsorship, and other events similar to the Palisades Will Rogers™ 5K 10K Run.
